It used to be that round trip
tickets were always cheaper than two one-way tickets. This isn’t necessarily true today. Booking two one ways is a little more time consuming but in
the end it might be a smarter move. Remember the United Airlines saga where
Kathy arrived late to the airport on the departure portion of her flight, missed
her flight, which resulted in the cancellation of her return ticket (See August 1, 2012 blog)?
As I previously mentioned, Tio Felipe passed
away last week and the funeral was this past Saturday. Well Maria, who retired on Wednesday
(see below picture), was going to join me in Phoenix and we were going to meet
up with friends for an Arizona State football game. Because the reservation was
booked as two one ways Maria lost out on the first part of the ticket but did
not lose out on the entire ticket as she could still use the return portion to go to Phoenix after the funeral.
You never know when your plans
might change so if the price is the same, I recommend two one ways versus a
round trip when booking your flights. Of course, if you have a coupon or promo
code good only for a round trip ticket you must weigh your options.
CONGRATULATIONS MARIA |
