What if something happened while traveling and you were unable to tell someone about your medical history, medical allergies or even worse-your final wishes?
When you travel you should carry with you an advance health care directive, also known as a living will. A living will is a document that specifies what actions should be taken regarding a person's health if they are no longer able to make decisions due to illness or incapacity.

I know you don't want to be lugging some 3-5 page document with you everywhere you go. My suggestion is keep all vital information and your living will in two places:
- a flash drive attached to your car keys
- a website such as Dropbox or iCloud
A flash drive is small and can store lots of vital information, e.g., driver's license, medical insurance card, medical records. Dropbox, iCloud or a similar application scan store information that can be accessed anywhere there is Internet access. For international travelers I would also suggest keeping a copy of your passport accessible.
